A 1" diamond shaped religious medallion found at Spitalfield's Antiques Market in London has been cast in sterling silver and strung on a 1" silver box chain. A swirling scroll on the front reads, " I promise to abstain from all intoxicating drinks as beverages". The original pendant was intended to be worn by teetotalers or recovering alcoholics, and dates back to the late nineteenth century. The back depicts a woman pouring a drink for a young child, presumably for medicinal purposes.
This a perfect accessory for many occasions....including 12-step meetings, a night at the local bar, or mimosas at lunch.
